ISLAMABAD:
Sanghar DPO Abdullah Shaikh said that Sanghar district has been declared calamity hit as the water level is still rising as rains were expected on Sunday too.  He told PTV on Saturday that while they were trying their best to cope with the natural disaster the main problem is power shortages because the drainage machines cannot be operated at the grid stations “More water is coming into the city than we are taking out,” he said. He could not give exact figures on the damages as there are many small towns that have to be assessed. “People are totally dependent on relief camps and aid,” he added.
