Reese Witherspoon and Laura Dern discuss ‘Big Little Lies’ Season 3 at 2024 Emmys

Witherspoon and Dern shared updates on 'Big Little Lies' Season 3 and discussed their nominations at the 2024 Emmys.

Reese Witherspoon and Laura Dern hit the 2024 Emmys red carpet, sharing an exciting update on Big Little Lies Season 3 with Extra TV.

When asked about their looks for the evening, Witherspoon shared that her black gown with gold floral accents was designed by Dior, while her necklace, described as “many carats,” was from Bucherer. 

Dern, on the other hand, wore an off-the-shoulder black gown with buttons by Gabriela Hearst, whom she referred to as a “goddess.” Witherspoon took some credit for the choice, noting, “I told Laura ahead of the Emmys, ‘You look so fabulous in Gabriela Hearst.’”

The conversation soon turned to Big Little Lies and the possibility of a third season. Witherspoon revealed, “We're working on it. It's going to be so incredible we just have to write all the scripts.” 

She went on to praise the show's cast, which includes Nicole Kidman, Zoe Kravitz, and Shailene Woodley, adding that working with such close friends is “a priority.”

Both stars were nominated at the Emmys for other projects as well, with Witherspoon attending for The Morning Show and Dern for Palm Royale. Witherspoon reflected on the success of The Morning Show, saying, “It’s so great...we had such a fun season.” 

Meanwhile, Dern spoke excitedly about Palm Royale and the opportunity to work with legendary performers, including Carol Burnett, who she called a “goddess.”
