Shooter involved in murder of Teefi Butt's brother-in-law arrested in Lahore
Lahore police have arrested the shooter responsible for the murder of Teefi Butt’s brother-in-law, Javed Butt.
The shooter, identified as Azhar, was apprehended in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, along with another suspect linked to the crime.
According to police sources, Azhar, a habitual offender with a criminal record, had conducted surveillance on Javed Butt before carrying out the attack.
Police confirmed that Azhar was directly involved in the shooting that led to Javed Butt’s death.
The arrests were made as part of an ongoing investigation into Balaj Tipu murder case in Lahore.
The police have started interrogating both suspects to determine the motives and individuals behind the murder.
Further details about the operation and any additional arrests are expected as the investigation unfolds.
This development marks a significant step in resolving the high-profile case, with authorities aiming to bring all those involved in the crime to justice.
Muhammad Javed Butt, the brother-in-law of Khawaja Tareef alias Teefi Butt, one of the main suspects in the Amir Balaj murder case, was shot dead near the Muslim Town underpass in Lahore two weeks ago.
The shooting led to Javed Butt being killed on the spot, while his wife sustained gunshot injuries and was rushed to the hospital.
The incident took place in the jurisdiction of the Achhra Police Station.
SP Model Town, Ikhlaq Ullah Tarar, arrived at the scene with a heavy police presence to begin an investigation.
Police officials have confirmed that Javed Butt's daughter, who was also in the car at the time of the shooting, was unharmed. The investigation into the shooting has been launched, with authorities focusing on the potential motives behind the attack.
The tragic incident adds another layer of complexity to the ongoing investigation into the Amir Balaj murder case, where Teefi Butt remains the primary suspect.
Previously Ameer Balaj Tipu was killed at a marriage ceremony in a housing society by Muzzafar Hussain, an old gunman of Khawaja Tareef, over a 30-year-old feud.
Muzzafar was shot dead immediately after Tipu's murder.
Investigations revealed that Ahsan, a close friend of the deceased, had provided critical information to the attackers, facilitating the murder.
In a related development, an audio recording surfaced of Ahsan Shah plotting to murder a police officer while he was in jail. The recording revealed his intentions to leave the country and "take care" of the officer before fleeing.
The Lahore Organised Crime Unit, led by DSP Muhammad Ali Butt and DIG Imran Kishwar, is overseeing the investigation.
Authorities are also pursuing red warrants for the arrest of the main suspects in the case, Khawaja Tareef (Teefi Butt) and Khawaja Aqeel (Gogi Butt), who have been declared proclaimed offenders.
