LAHORE:

Over 55,000 officers and personnel will be deployed across Punjab to ensure security for 1,581 Milad gatherings and 2,467 processions on the 12th of Rabi-ul-Awwal. In Lahore alone, 255 processions and more than 225 gatherings will take place, with over 10,000 police officers and volunteers responsible for security.

The Punjab police will use both traditional and modern methods, with the support of traffic police, the elite force, the Special Branch, and Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) teams.

Additional monitoring will be carried out in sensitive cities through Safe City cameras. IG Punjab directed that processions categorized as A, B and C will receive specific security measures based on established SOPs. District peace committees, religious scholars, and community leaders were urged to cooperate with the authorities.

Special control rooms have been established to monitor security in real-time.

In Lahore, Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) Bilal Siddique Kamyana chaired a meeting to finalize security arrangements and review ongoing police development projects. Over 8,000 officers, including 8 SPs, 29 DSPs, 83 SHOs, and 601 upper subordinates, will be deployed in the city for the 12th Rabi-ul-Awwal. The CCPO emphasised coordination with religious leaders and peace committees to maintain harmony, and continuous monitoring via the Punjab Safe City Authority's cameras.
