Senate Chairman Yousuf Raza Gilani appoints 13 senators to special committee
Committee formed to review matters related to Parliament, legislators, and constitutional issues
Senate Chairman Yousuf Raza Gilani has appointed 13 senators from both the government and opposition benches to a special committee tasked with analysing parliamentary, constitutional, and legislative issues, and providing recommendations.
According to a statement from the Senate Secretariat, the committee has been formed to review matters related to Parliament, legislators, and constitutional issues, and to offer proposals for addressing these concerns. The appointed senators include:
- Shibli Faraz, Leader of the Opposition in the Senate from Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI)
- Sherry Rehman, Parliamentary Leader from Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP)
- Irfan Siddiqui, Parliamentary Leader from Pakistan Muslim League (Nawaz) (PML-N)
- Ali Zafar, Parliamentary Leader from PTI
- Manzoor Ahmad, Parliamentary Leader from Balochistan Awami Party (BAP)
- Attaur Rehman, Parliamentary Leader from Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI-F)
- Aimal Wali Khan, Parliamentary Leader from Awami National Party (ANP)
- Faisal Subzwari, Parliamentary Leader from Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM-P)
- Mohammad Qasim, Parliamentary Leader from Balochistan National Party (BNP)
- Nasir Abbas, Parliamentary Leader from Majlis-e-Wahdat-e-Muslimeen (MWM)
