Jane’s Addiction fight: Perry Farrell punches Dave Navarro during Boston performance

Rock band Jane’s Addiction got into a fight during a concert in Boston on Friday night after lead singer Perry Farrell "body checked" and punched Dave Navarro onstage.

In a video shared by Farrell’s wife, Etty Farrell, on Saturday, Perry was seen angrily singing into the microphone before slamming into Navarro during their performance at the Leader Bank Pavilion.

The lead singer then began shouting at the guitarist, who backed away and tried to keep Farrell at bay by placing his forearm on his chest.

Perry, 65, grew increasingly upset and attempted to punch Navarro, 57, but ended up hitting his guitar instead.

A crew member quickly ran from backstage to intervene and restrain Perry, which seemed to aggravate him even more. Two other men grabbed him as he tried to resist.

Meanwhile, Navarro put his guitar down on the stage, spoke with what looked like a security guard, and left the stage.

Jane’s Addiction did not immediately provide a comment to Page Six regarding the incident.

Etty, however, posted on Instagram that there had been ongoing “tension and animosity” within the band prior to the fight.

“Perry’s frustration had been mounting, night after night, he felt that the stage volume had been extremely loud and his voice was being drowned out by the band,” she wrote.

“Perry had been suffering from tinnitus and a sore throat every night. But when the audience in the first row, started complaining up to Perry cussing at him that the band was planning too loud and that they couldn’t hear him, Perry lost it.”

She added that the altercation occurred after Jane’s Addiction began their song “Ocean” before Perry was ready to start and conduct the count-off.
