Police arrest key gang member in Bhong

Search intensifies for Nukhaf Dashti's fleeing accomplices

RAHIM YAR KHAN:

In an intelligence-based operation, Punjab Police claimed to have arrested Nukhaf Dashti, a key member of the Tanveer Indhar Gang, in Bhong, Rahim Yar Khan.

Dashti was injured in the operation while other gang members managed to escape.

According to a police spokesperson, the operation was launched after receiving intelligence about armed criminals at Fayyaz Bagh, in the Qadirpur area. When police raided the location, the suspects opened heavy fire.

The police responded with force, and during the crossfire, Nukhaf Dashti was injured by gunfire from his accomplices.

He was then arrested, but the remaining gang members fled under the cover of darkness.

Dashti, a close associate of notorious dacoits Moorzada Dashti and Shehzada Dashti - who was killed in an earlier police operation—has a history of involvement in serious crimes, including murder, robbery, and attacking law enforcement.

He was wanted in multiple cases, and a Kalashnikov was recovered from him during the arrest.

Inspector General Punjab Dr Usman Anwar, commended DPO Rahim Yar Khan Rizwan Umar Gondal and the police team for their successful operation and directed them to arrest the remaining suspects.

A search operation, led by SHO Bhong and the CIA Sadiqabad team, is under way to apprehend the fleeing criminals.
