Laura Loomer threatens to sue Bill Maher over Trump relationship joke

Loomer responds to Maher’s joke about her alleged relationship with Donald Trump, threatening a defamation lawsuit.

Right-wing activist and investigative journalist Laura Loomer has threatened to sue comedian Bill Maher after he joked about her alleged relationship with former President Donald Trump.

During his HBO show ‘Real Time’ on Friday, Maher suggested that Loomer might be in an "arranged relationship" with Trump to influence the upcoming election, adding, “She’s 31, looks like his type . . . who’s Trump f***ing?”

Loomer quickly responded on social media, writing on X (formerly Twitter), “I should sue Bill Maher for defamation,” calling the comments a “blatant lie” and beyond acceptable bounds. She accused Maher of being part of a “coordinated attack” by the mainstream media and leftist personalities to undermine her links to the Trump campaign.

Loomer recently garnered attention for traveling with Trump to Philadelphia for a debate against Vice President Kamala Harris and appearing alongside him at a 9/11 memorial event in New York City.

In response to her growing association with his campaign, Trump sought to distance himself, telling reporters that Loomer was merely a "supporter" and not part of his campaign team. On Truth Social, Trump reiterated that Loomer is a “private citizen” with no formal role in his campaign.
