Donald Trump has taken inspiration from Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour T-shirts for his latest campaign merchandise following her endorsement of Kamala Harris.
The new T-shirts, which Trump’s campaign released on Friday, feature a nearly identical design to Swift’s color-blocked concert top.
The original Eras Tour shirt displays a black-and-white image of Swift surrounded by photos representing each of her studio albums, differentiated by colors.
Trump’s version mirrors the design, replacing the images of Swift with photos of himself and swapping the text for “Donald J. Trump” alongside his slogan, “Make America Great Again.” The former president also kept the same font as Swift’s shirt.
The design sparked a wave of reactions online, with many Swift fans urging her to take legal action.
“Taylor should sue him for copyright,” one person commented, while another added, “taylor needs to take strict action because he is literally giving over obsessed.”
Trump’s merchandise release came just days after Swift announced her support for Harris and Tim Walz in the 2024 Presidential Election.
In her Instagram post, Swift said, “I’m voting for @kamalaharris because she fights for the rights and causes I believe need a warrior to champion them.” She praised the vice president as “a steady-handed, gifted leader,” contrasting her leadership with Trump’s “chaos.”
Swift also addressed Trump’s social media activity, revealing that AI-generated images falsely showing her endorsing him had been posted on his site.
“It really conjured up my fears around AI, and the dangers of spreading misinformation,” Swift wrote, explaining why she felt the need to clarify her political stance.
Trump, 78, brushed off Swift’s endorsement, calling her “a very liberal person” and claiming he was never a fan of hers.
He warned that she might “pay a price for it in the marketplace,” but it appears he still recognizes her influence, as shown by his decision to mimic her tour merchandise.
