Lahore police arrest suspects in Rs 20 million robbery case
SP City Captain (R) Qazi Ali Raza made the announcement during a press conference at the Lohari Gate Police Station.
Lahore's Misri Shah Police has apprehended the suspects involved in a Rs 20 million heist carried out four days ago.
The criminals were operating as a well-organised gang. Among those arrested are the gang leader Asad and Gul Jan.
Asad had been working in the market for a long time and had been keeping watch on people carrying money.
When a local resident, Manzoor, set out with Rs 20 million to deposit the money at the bank with his foreman, Asad had already been monitoring this individual.
Asad informed his accomplices, and they snatched the money at gunpoint from a short distance and fled. Among those involved in the robbery, Gul Jan was riding a motorcycle while Asad guided him from behind.
The police arrived at the scene, collected evidence, and registered a case, forming teams for further action.
The Misri Shah police traced the suspects using CCTV footage, human resources, and advanced locators.
Asad and Gul Jan were arrested in Lahore, and raids are being conducted to apprehend their other accomplices.
The police have recovered the motorcycle, weapons, and Rs. 19.75 million used in the crime and have initiated an investigation.
