WATCH: Texas’ Central Market marks 30 year-anniversary with world’s largest charcuterie board
Central Market kicked off its 30th anniversary celebrations on Wednesday by setting a Guinness World Record for the largest charcuterie board ever created and consumed.
The Texas-based grocery chain unveiled the 12-foot by 24-foot board at its North Lamar location in Austin, the first store that opened in 1994.
The record-setting board featured 1,000 pounds of food, including 540 pounds of cured meats, 240 pounds of cheese, and 130 pounds of fruits.
Guests were invited to enjoy the impressive spread while sipping drinks and listening to live music on the patio.
Among the meats were applewood-smoked ham, schiacciata piccante, and salami, while the cheese selection included manchego and brie.
The spread was complemented by Castelvetrano olives, fig spread, and berry compote.
In addition to the food, Central Market made a philanthropic gesture by presenting a $30,000 donation to the St. David’s Foundation, further cementing its community ties.
The celebration will continue across Central Market’s 10 Texas locations until September 24, featuring special deals on food, wine, and more.
