Man killed by fireworks

The body of an elderly man, who was killed by fireworks display at Mehfil Milad in Nishatabad on Friday, was handed over to his family members after necessary procedures.

The police have registered a case under the provisions of murder against four accused including the organisers of the event. Taking notice of the matter, the CPO formed teams to arrest the accused involved.

Mushtaq Gul, organised a Milad party in area 100 GB, area of Nishatabad police station where there were fireworks on the arrival of a Pir.

The firework stand collapsed due to the negligence of Abbas and Adil Ali. One of the falling fireworks struck 55-year-old Qurban from 100 JB in the chest, resulting in his immediate death.

The police registered a case under four sections including murder against the four accused Abbas, Adil Ali and the event organisers Mushtaq, Ishtiaq.

Meanwhile, City Police Officer DIG Kamran Adil took notice of the incident, sought a report of the incident from SP Madina Town and issued orders to arrest the accused immediately.
