Thai Embassy hosts food fest

The opening ceremony of the Thai Food Festival was recently held at a private hotel in Islamabad.

The event was arranged to offer locals a taste of Thai cuisine and introduce them to its rich culture. A cultural troupe from Thailand was also set to perform at the festival.

The Royal Thai Embassy Chargé d'affaires, Kamolwan Sriposil, stationed in Pakistan highlighted Pakistan's historical cultural significance, stating, "Pakistan, with its oldest culture and historical heritage, sets an example on its own. The long-standing relationship between the governments of Pakistan and Thailand is strengthening over time." She went on to praise Pakistani cuisine but noted that Thai food has its unique flavours, which Pakistanis will surely enjoy.

In response to a question, Kamolwan mentioned that last year, famous Buddhist monks from Thailand visited Pakistan and were delighted to see the Buddhist archaeology of Taxila and Swat in their original condition.

The eminent Chef V and General Manager Hasan Khan, along with Amina Jafri, were also present at the ceremony. The GM of the private hotel emphasised the crucial role that the hotel industry plays in stabilising the country's economy. He announced plans to hold future food fairs in collaboration with other embassies.
