Centre to start building key roads in Sindh: CM

The federal government has decided to launch construction on key highways in Sindh.

Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar assured Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah that funds for the projects will be released soon.

He gave this assurance during a meeting with the Sindh CM on Friday. The meeting was also attended by Sindh Chief Secretary Asif Hyder Shah, Federal Finance Secretary Imdadullah Bosal, Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister Agha Wasif, and Provincial Finance Secretary Fayaz Jatoi.

During the meeting, CM Shah stressed the need to complete the Jamshoro to Sehwan national highway, informing the federal fminister that the Sindh government had already allocated Rs7 billion for the project.

The expansion of the Mehran Highway was also discussed as part of the province's infrastructure development plans.

Dar assured the chief minister that funds for Public Sector Development Programme (PSDP) projects in Sindh would be released soon. The meeting also covered discussions on the economic challenges and potential solutions.

Chief Minister Shah highlighted that the provincial government is taking effective steps to contribute to the improvement of the national economy.

CM, UNRC discuss climate change challenges

Shah and the delegation of the United Nations in Pakistan, led by its Resident and Humanitarian Coordinator (UNRC) Mohamed Yahya discussed ongoing and future collaboration and support between the provincial government and the UN to meet the challenges of climate change in their meeting at the CM House.

The UN coordinator acknowledged the contributions of the government in providing an enabling environment to UN agencies and their partners in carrying out interventions in the province by the UN Sustainable Development Cooperation Framework.
