PCB sets aside Rs7.7 billion for Gaddafi Stadium revamp ahead of Champions Trophy 2025

The board had allocated Rs12.8 billion to upgrade stadiums in Lahore, Karachi, and Rawalpindi for the event

Pakistan is set to host the 2025 Champions Trophy, marking the first time in many years that the country will host an ICC event.

Preparations are in full swing, with the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) allocating Rs12.8 billion for upgrading stadiums in Lahore, Karachi, and Rawalpindi to meet international standards.

According to the details, a recent Board of Governors meeting in Faisalabad provided updates on the ongoing construction work and stadium expenditures.

The Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore is set to receive the highest investment for its renovation, with a total of Rs7.7 billion allocated.

This includes Rs1,100 million for the construction of a steel-structured pavilion building, Rs3,471 million for a concrete office building structure, Rs1,250 million for the steel structure of the enclosure, Rs189 million for a moat, and Rs330 million for the replacement of two LED digital screens.

The replacement of floodlights with 480 LED lights at Gaddafi Stadium will cost Rs523 million, while Rs375 million have been allocated for the installation of seats, and Rs93 million for external development works.

At the National Bank Stadium, the total construction costs will amount to Rs3.5 billion.

This includes 1,500 million rupees for the steel structure of the pavilion building, Rs580 million for renovating the main building and hospitality boxes, Rs330 million for two new LED digital screens, Rs490 million for replacing floodlights with 450 LED lights, and Rs340 million for seat installation.

The construction work at Pindi Stadium in Rawalpindi is estimated to cost Rs1.5 billion. This includes Rs393 million for replacing floodlights with 350 LED lights and Rs400 million for renovating the main building, hospitality boxes, and restrooms.

Additionally, Rs330 million have been allocated for replacing two LED digital screens, and Rs272 million will be spent on new seating installations.
