Flappy Bird is officially returning to web browsers, iOS, and Android in 2025 with new modes
Flappy Bird, the viral mobile game that was removed from app stores over a decade ago, is making a comeback. The newly formed Flappy Bird Foundation, which acquired the trademark and licensing rights from Gametech Holdings LLC, has announced plans to relaunch the game on various platforms. A browser version of the game is set to launch in the fall of 2024, followed by new apps for iOS and Android in 2025. Other platforms will be announced later.
The revamped Flappy Bird will introduce new game modes, characters, and multiplayer challenges while maintaining the essence of the original gameplay. Michael Roberts, the creative head behind the project, stated, “We are beyond excited to be bringing back Flappy Bird and delivering a fresh experience that will keep players engaged for years to come.”
Kek, the developer of Piou Piou vs. Cactus, a game that inspired Flappy Bird, expressed enthusiasm about the relaunch, calling it a "milestone" for both gaming and his personal journey.
The return of Flappy Bird aims to recapture its previous global success while introducing fresh updates to its fanbase. A trailer and more details about the game can be found on the Flappy Bird Foundation’s official website.
