An employee at a Raleigh Food Lion was found dead in a freezer; police report no signs of foul play

An employee at a Food Lion grocery store in Raleigh, North Carolina, was found dead in the store’s supply freezer by co-workers. The tragic discovery occurred at the branch on Capital Boulevard, just outside downtown Raleigh. According to local CBS affiliate WNCN, the incident took place on Monday night, September 11, 2024.

Authorities revealed that the man, whose identity has not been released, likely died of natural causes following a medical emergency at work. The Raleigh Police Department confirmed that there is no indication of foul play in the death.

This incident is not the first case of an employee dying unexpectedly at work. Similar instances have occurred, including a 2023 case in Louisiana where an Arby’s manager was found dead in a walk-in freezer. In both situations, no foul play was suspected.
