The Lamar family expressed their grief, stating, "While he leaves us with an undeniable hole in our hearts, we are comforted by knowing his music and triumphant spirit lives on." They also mentioned that details of a celebration of life for the late rapper would be shared soon, adding, "We are grateful for the support and kind words at this difficult time."
Rich Homie Quan rose to fame for hits like "Type of Way" and "Flex (Ooh, Ooh, Ooh)" and was also a member of Rich Gang alongside Young Thug and Birdman. His sudden death has shaken the hip-hop community, with fellow artists offering their condolences.
