Dave Grohl allegedly hired divorce lawyer before announcing baby with mistress
Dave Grohl reportedly hired a divorce attorney prior to revealing that he had fathered a child outside of his marriage.
On Wednesday, People reported that the Foo Fighters frontman had allegedly sought legal counsel after 21 years of marriage to Jordyn Blum.
The specific date he retained the lawyer, as well as the exact reason, remains unclear. His representative did not respond to a request for comment from Page Six.
Grohl, 55, shocked fans on Tuesday when he revealed that he had an affair that resulted in the birth of a daughter.
“I’ve recently become the father of a new baby daughter, born outside of my marriage,” Grohl shared in a statement on Sept. 10. “I plan to be a loving and supportive parent to her.”
He expressed love for his wife and children, stating that he is working to “regain their trust and earn their forgiveness.”
“We’re grateful for your consideration toward all the children involved, as we move forward together,” he continued.
The identity of the woman with whom he shares the child has not been revealed.
Grohl and Blum already have three daughters: Violet Maye, 18, Harper Willow, 15, and Ophelia Saint, 10.
Following Grohl’s statement, his eldest daughter deactivated her Instagram account, though it's uncertain whether this was related to the situation.
Blum, 48, and Grohl first met in 2001 at a bar in West Hollywood, California, and they were married nearly two years later on August 2, 2003.
