In a Wednesday morning phone interview with Fox News, former President Donald Trump expressed that he prefers Brittany Mahomes over Taylor Swift, following Swift’s endorsement of Vice President Kamala Harris on Tuesday night.

“I actually like Mrs. Mahomes much better, if you want to know the truth. She’s a big Trump fan,” Trump said. “I like Brittany. I think Brittany’s great.”

Mahomes showed her support for Trump on August 13 by liking his Instagram post that detailed the “2024 GOP platform.” She addressed the backlash on her Instagram Stories.

“I mean honestly, To be a hater as an adult, you have to have some deep-rooted issues you refuse to heal from childhood,” she wrote on Instagram Stories. “There’s no reason your brain is fully developed and you hate to see others doing well.”

Swift endorsed Harris in an Instagram post after the debate.

“I’m voting for @kamalaharris because she fights for the rights and causes I believe need a warrior to champion them,” Swift wrote in her post, describing Harris as “a steady-handed, gifted leader and I believe we can accomplish so much more in this country if we are led by calm and not chaos.”

Trump stated on Wednesday morning that he wasn’t surprised by Swift’s lack of support for him.

“She’s a very liberal person,” Trump said. “She seems to always endorse a Democrat and she’ll probably pay a price for it in the marketplace.”

Previously, the Trump campaign attempted to give the false impression that Swift might back him. Last month, Trump shared a collage of AI-generated images that depicted young women in “Swifties for Trump” shirts.
