Nikki Bella Files for divorce from Artem Chigvintsev after domestic violence arrest

The couple shares a young son, Matteo, and their divorce is expected to be contentious.

Nikki Bella, the former WWE superstar, has initiated divorce proceedings against her husband, "Dancing With The Stars" pro Artem Chigvintsev, following his arrest for domestic violence. The couple, who share a 4-year-old son named Matteo, have been married for two years.

Court records reveal that Bella filed for divorce on Wednesday, less than two weeks after Chigvintsev was arrested on August 29th for felony corporal injury to a spouse or cohabitant. The arrest was reportedly triggered by visible injuries on Bella's body.

Sources close to the couple suggested to TMZ that the divorce is likely to be contentious. Bella has reportedly already removed her wedding ring and is residing at the family home in Napa Valley with Matteo, while Chigvintsev is staying with a friend.

The couple's relationship began in 2017 when they met on "Dancing With The Stars." They became engaged in January 2020 and married in Paris in August 2022.

This recent development marks a sad end to their once-celebrated relationship, leaving fans and followers speculating about the future of both individuals and their young son.
