Jon Bon Jovi stops woman from suicide on Nashville pedestrian bridge
Jon Bon Jovi helped save someone from taking her own life in a video released by the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department on Wednesday.
The emotional video, recorded on Tuesday evening and posted on YouTube, captures the “Livin’ on a Prayer” singer slowly approaching a woman on the John Seigenthaler Pedestrian Bridge in Nashville, Tennessee.

He was in the middle of shooting a music video for his song “People’s House” when he and his crew spotted the woman standing on the outer ledge of the bridge, holding onto the handrails.
Bon Jovi, 62, stopped a few feet from the woman and started talking to her before moving closer with the help of another bystander.
While the exact conversation is unclear, the singer and the bystander seemed to persuade the distressed woman to step back onto the main part of the bridge. The video shows them assisting her over the railing and continuing their conversation with her.

Afterward, the three walked away together.
A source close to the incident confirmed to Page Six that Bon Jovi was filming his music video when he noticed the woman in distress.
They also mentioned that he has significant experience in crisis intervention through his Jon Bon Jovi Soul Foundation.
The foundation aims to “recognize and maximize the human potential in those affected by hunger, poverty, and homelessness by offering assistance in establishing programs that provide food and affordable housing while supporting social services and job training programs,” according to its website.
Our source also confirmed that Bon Jovi would not be making a public statement about his actions out of respect for the privacy of the individual involved.
The MNPD praised Bon Jovi's good deed in a Facebook post on Wednesday, writing, “Bon Jovi helped persuade her to come off the ledge over the Cumberland River to safety. ❤.”
Nashville Police Chief John Drake also commented, “It takes all of us to help keep each other safe.”
