Pop star Halsey made a statement at the 2024 MTV Video Music Awards with the live debut of their latest single "Ego." The performance drew inspiration from the 2003 movie 'Freaky Friday', featuring Halsey and a band rocking out in a garage setting. Halsey's attire and the energetic performance brought a nostalgic, pop-punk vibe to the VMAs stage.

Dressed in a white collared shirt, black tie, oversized denim shorts, and black lace-up boots, Halsey entered the stage on a bike, adding to the rebellious, youthful energy. The singer, who uses she/they pronouns, even played guitar during the performance, showcasing their musical versatility.

The song "Ego" delves into Halsey's struggle with public perception and internal conflicts, a theme that resonates with their upcoming album, 'The Great Impersonator'. This "confessional concept album" is set to release on October 25th, and fans are eagerly awaiting its arrival.

The 2024 VMAs were packed with star-studded performances, including Halsey's, further solidifying the event's status as a celebration of the best in music and music videos.
