Camila Cabello debuts new single "Godspeed" with dramatic 2024 VMAs performance

Camila Cabello made a triumphant return to the MTV VMAs stage with a captivating performance of her latest single, "Godspeed." The 27-year-old singer showcased her artistic evolution with a dramatic and visually stunning act that left the audience in awe.

The performance began with a pre-recorded clip of Cabello singing "June Gloom," before transitioning to the live stage where she emerged in a white dress, showcasing her new brunette look. Enclosed in a transparent booth, Cabello delivered a heartfelt rendition of "Godspeed," while dancers clad in balaclavas and wielding bats and crowbars surrounded her, creating an atmosphere of tension and empowerment.

The performance climaxed with Cabello smashing a laptop and stepping out of the booth to join her dancers, symbolizing a powerful moment of liberation and self-expression.
 


Cabello's performance was one of many highlights from the 2024 VMAs, which also featured performances by Katy Perry, Anitta, Karol G, Shawn Mendes, Eminem, Sabrina Carpenter, GloRilla, Rauw Alejandro, Halsey, Lenny Kravitz, Lisa, Megan Thee Stallion, and Benson Boone.

This was Cabello's third appearance at the VMAs, and she also received two nominations for Best Pop and Best Trending Video for "I Luv It" with Playboi Carti.
