NewJeans, the popular K-pop group, has spoken out against the recent change in leadership at their label, ADOR.

On August 27, ADOR announced that Min Hee Jin would step down as CEO but continue producing NewJeans' content as an internal director. However, during a surprise YouTube live broadcast on September 11, the five members of NewJeans expressed their dissatisfaction with the decision, urging that Min Hee Jin be reinstated as CEO by September 25.

“We prepared this live broadcast because the five of us have something we really want to say,” Hyein stated. She explained that the group had already met with management but felt their concerns were not properly communicated. Danielle echoed this sentiment, adding, “With CEO Min Hee Jin, we were able to prepare each task sincerely. She’s integral to NewJeans' identity, and we all feel she is irreplaceable.”

The members shared personal stories, such as Hanni recounting a negative experience with another group’s manager and feeling unsupported by the new CEO. “We had lost our protector,” she remarked. Minji added, “The separation of production and management is not how we’ve worked before, and it’s affecting us.”

Expressing their frustration, Hyein demanded, “Please return CEO Min Hee Jin to her position,” while Danielle called on HYBE to stop “bothering” Min Hee Jin. The group firmly requested a return to the previous management structure, highlighting their trust in Min Hee Jin’s leadership and creative vision.
