Gold prices soar to record Rs264,000 per tola in Pakistan
Gold prices in Pakistan continued to rise on Wednesday, marking back-to-back gains in line with increasing international rates.
The price of gold per tola (11.66 grams) surged by Rs2,300, reaching a record-breaking Rs264,000, according to the All-Pakistan Gems and Jewellers Sarafa Association (APGJSA).
The price of 10 grams of gold also increased, rising by Rs1,972 to reach Rs226,337.
On Tuesday, the gold price had already jumped by Rs1,300, settling at Rs261,700 per tola.
Globally, gold prices saw a similar uptick, with the international rate climbing by $23 to reach $2,524 per ounce. APGJSA reported a premium of $20 added to the international rate.
Meanwhile, silver prices remained stable at Rs2,900 per tola, showing no significant changes from previous rates.
Just last month, gold prices in Pakistan reached a previous record high of Rs263,700 per tola, before setting a new peak this week.
Yesterday, gold prices experienced a notable increase both globally and locally.
On the international bullion market, the price of gold per ounce rose by $10, reaching a new level of $2,500.
In the local market, the price of 24-carat gold per tola surged by Rs1,300, bringing it to Rs 261,700 .
Similarly, the price of gold per 10 grams rose by 1,114 rupees, and stood at Rs224,365.
The local silver market has also seen an increase, with the price of silver per tola rising by Rs 50 to reach Rs 2,900.
The price of silver per 10 grams has climbed by Rs 42.87, now at Rs 2,486.28.
