MTV VMAs 2024: Full list of performers and presenters unveiled for 40th anniversary celebration
The MTV Video Music Awards are gearing up for their milestone 40th anniversary with a star-studded lineup.
Scheduled to air live on Wednesday, September 11, at 8 p.m. ET/PT from New York’s UBS Arena, the show promises a dynamic mix of performances and appearances.
Megan Thee Stallion will take on hosting duties for the evening, while Eminem is set to open the show. Eminem, whose latest album The Death of Slim Shady (Coup de Grace) recently debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200, will also be competing in eight categories.
His hit “Houdini” is nominated for several awards, including video of the year. Should he win in any category, Eminem will surpass Peter Gabriel for the most wins by a male artist in VMA history.
Katy Perry, who previously won video of the year in 2011 and hosted the show in 2017, will receive the Video Vanguard Award. Perry is the first artist to achieve the trifecta of hosting, winning video of the year, and receiving the Vanguard Award.
Additional performers include Sabrina Carpenter, Chappell Roan, and Teddy Swims, making their VMA debuts. Le Sserafim will perform during the pre-show, marking their first appearance at a U.S. award show.
The event will also feature presenters such as Cyndi Lauper, who won a Moon Man at the inaugural VMAs in 1984, and Carson Daly, known for hosting MTV’s TRL from 1998 to 2003.
The VMAs will be broadcast across various channels, including BET, Comedy Central, and VH1, with a pre-show airing from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. ET/PT.
The show is produced by Bruce Gillmer and Jesse Ignjatovic, with Barb Bialkowski serving as co-executive producer.
