Amid growing speculation about her involvement in the 2024 presidential race, Taylor Swift officially endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris over Donald Trump, following the candidates' debate on Tuesday night.

In an Instagram post that quickly went viral, Swift expressed her concerns about misinformation, particularly AI-generated images falsely suggesting she supported Trump.

She affirmed her support for the Harris-Walz ticket, stating that they fight for the causes she cares about, and encouraged her fans to register to vote, regardless of whom they support.

The post, which amassed millions of likes in hours, ended with a playful jab at Trump running mate Sen. J.D. Vance’s comments describing Democrats as “childless cat ladies,” with Swift cheekily identifying as one herself.

The influence of Swift’s endorsement on the election is difficult to measure immediately, but her support holds significant weight given her immense fan base.

However, the endorsement also drew attention from Elon Musk, who responded to Swift’s post with a bizarre tweet: “Fine Taylor … you win … I will give you a child and guard your cats with my life.” Musk, currently embroiled in a custody battle and a father of 12, has made headlines in the past for his controversial takes on population collapse and immigration.

During the debate, Musk retweeted posts criticizing Harris and the media but offered little direct praise for Trump.

He humorously engaged with posts describing the election as a battle between himself and Swift, replying with his signature laugh-crying emoji.

The tweet about impregnating Swift, which garnered 50,000 likes and thousands of replies, sparked mixed reactions, with responses ranging from disgust to amusement.

Neither Swift nor her boyfriend, NFL star Travis Kelce, have commented on Musk’s overture.
