PSB unveils financial allocations to sports federations

Detailed funding information covers the period from 2019-20 to 2023-24.

The Pakistan Sports Board (PSB) has released detailed information about the funds allocated to various sports federations and athletes over the past five years.

According to the PSB, the majority of the funds were distributed in the last two years. Over the five-year period, the total funds allocated exceeded one billion rupees.

For the financial year 2023/24, federations and athletes received more than Rs500 million rupees. In 2022/23, the amount exceeded Rs420 million, while in 2020/21, just over Rs 40 million were allocated. The year 2021/22 saw Rs69.5 million, and Rs 25 million were allocated in 2019/20.

The documents reveal that the Pakistan Hockey Federation received 103.6 million rupees over the five years, with Rs 59 million allocated last year.

The Athletics Federation was given over Rs100 million, and the Volleyball Federation received a grant of Rs100 million for 2023/24 alone, totaling over 115 million rupees in the past five years.

The PSB also allocated Rs70 million to the Athletics Federation for 2023/24, Rs70 million to the Netball Federation over five years, and Rs65 million in the last two years. The Taekwondo Federation received Rs60 million, and the Tennis Federation was allocated nearly Rs49 million.

Additionally, the Squash Federation received Rs50 million, the Rifle Association was given Rs 26.5 million, Boxing Federation Rs30.5 million, the Pakistan Billiards and Snooker Association received Rs24.7 million, and the Cycling Federation was allocated nearly Rs40 million .
