In a recent interview with GQ, Beyoncé revealed her favorite film of 2024 as Inside Out 2, which has also surpassed one of her own film's records. The sequel to the 2015 animated movie has become the highest-grossing film of the year, earning $1.67 billion globally, surpassing Beyoncé's 2019 film The Lion King, where she voiced Nala, which earned $1.61 billion worldwide.

Beyoncé praised Inside Out 2, calling it "brilliant" and noting that it was the best film she had seen this year. The animated film holds a 91% Certified Fresh score on Rotten Tomatoes and has resonated with audiences globally, earning a Verified Hot 95% audience rating. Its box office success placed it in eighth place on the all-time worldwide box office list, just ahead of The Lion King.

Despite The Lion King being a significant achievement for Beyoncé, she acknowledged Inside Out 2's impact. With her three children, Blue Ivy, Sir, and Rumi, it’s not surprising that Beyoncé experienced the emotions of the Pixar sequel firsthand in theatres.

As Beyoncé looks forward to the December 2024 release of Mufasa: The Lion King, where she will reprise her role as Nala, the film is expected to challenge Inside Out 2's dominance at the box office.
