Fearing for her life, actor and single mother Sana Nawaz took to social media to post a short but heartfelt video relaying the threats she and her children have faced in recent days. Suspecting that her ex-husband and his father are behind the car-chases and threatening phone calls she has been subjected to, the Yeh Dil Aapka Huwa actor began, "You all will know that for some time now I have been going through a very difficult time."

Describing her feeling of terror to her viewers, Sana continued, "I've been getting some very strange calls. I'm very scared. I don't know how to handle them."

Sana did not detail the subject of the phone calls, but added that she was scared for her life. "Some of those calls have been life-threatening. Me and my kids are being threatened. My car has also been chased twice. I'm very scared. I can't figure out who it is."

However, Sana hypothesised that her ex-husband was most likely responsible for the series of threats. "This has happened before, and it was my ex and his father," she added. "It could very well be them. In fact, I'm sure it's them. And I will take action."

Sana added that her true purpose in sharing her trauma was so that people did not assume that actors or anyone in showbiz were shielded from the problems faced by the rest of society. In a poignant concluding observation, Sana stressed, "I don't want our actors to always be victims. They have such a big name on screen, but this is ultimately what happens behind the scenes."

Raising two boys following her split from her husband of fourteen years, Sana has previously gone on record to note that just because she is an actor does not mean that she is spared the stigma of divorce and being a single mother. In an appearance on the FHM podcast in April, Sana advocated for all women raising their children single-handedly, and remarked, "People assume that because I'm an actor, I have an army of help, and that makes it easy. But whether or not you have help, even as an actor, you are still under the same pressure because of how society views you. Single mothers don't deserve to be judged. They should be acknowledged and encouraged. Appreciate them. Just be there for them."
