Apple iPhone 16: How much would it cost in Pakistan?
Apple unveiled its latest iPhone 16 series at the “It’s Glowtime” event on 9 September at Apple Park, Cupertino.
The tech giant introduced four new models, including the iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max, along with a refreshed version of AirPods and the Apple Watch Series 10.
The iPhone 16 is priced at $899 for the 128GB variant, which is approximately Rs2,50,762 in Pakistan.
Adding the taxes, the price is expected to go up to Rs379,999.
However, it’s important to note that additional costs, including PTA approval and other taxes, will significantly increase the final price in the local market.
Apple has announced that the iPhone 16, iPhone 16 Plus, iPhone 16 Pro, and iPhone 16 Pro Max will be available in 58 countries and regions in the first wave of their global rollout.
Pre-orders for the new devices will begin this Friday, September 13, with availability starting on Friday, September 20.
Apple announced that the newly launched iPhone 16 Pro lineup will be sold in India at prices approximately $178 (14,948 INR) lower than the launch prices of its predecessor.
This price drop comes as Apple passes on the benefits of reduced import duties and its expanding local manufacturing operations to consumers. The announcement was made during Apple’s 2024 event on Monday.
This reduction follows India’s recent decision to lower import duties on electronics, a move that has also contributed to lower prices.
In July, Apple had already reduced prices for the iPhone 15 Pro models in India by 3% to 4%.
The new iPhone 16 Pro models are Apple’s largest yet, with screen sizes increased to 6.3 inches and 6.9 inches. Both devices feature a Grade 5 titanium design with a micro-blasted finish, offering a premium look and twice the durability of the iPhone 16 Pro.
