Selena Gomez calls Taylor Swift ‘big sister’ amid distancing rumours
Selena Gomez recently shed light on her close friendship with Taylor Swift, revealing a shared interest in the Bravo reality show Vanderpump Rules.
In a new Vanity Fair cover story, Gomez, 32, spoke about how she and the "Fortnight" singer, 34, often "compare notes" on the show, alongside discussing other everyday topics.
While Gomez occasionally seeks Swift's advice on navigating fame or working in the music industry, she admitted that most of their conversations revolve around more casual subjects.
"She is really like a big sister to me," Gomez shared, referring to the 14-time Grammy winner.
The Only Murders in the Building star added that they often chat about the latest developments in Vanderpump Rules, saying she’s currently watching The Valley, a spinoff of the popular series.
“I’ve watched every episode of Vanderpump, so I don’t care if it’s bad!” Gomez told the magazine.
Aside from discussing her friendship with Swift, Gomez also touched on her future music plans. While she has recorded songs for her upcoming film Emilia Pérez, Gomez admitted she’s not yet ready to release new music.
“It’s a vulnerable space,” she explained. “Acting has always been my first love. Music is just a hobby that went out of control."
Despite her hesitation about diving back into music, Gomez made it clear she’s not stepping away completely. “I don’t think I’m going anywhere,” she assured. "I’m just not ready yet."
