WATCH: Asad Qaiser accuses government of attacking democracy by arresting PTI lawmakers
PTI leader Asad Qaiser has sharply criticised the government following the arrest of several PTI parliamentarians, including Barrister Gohar.
He accused the authorities of attacking the Parliament and warned that such actions are pushing the country towards instability.
Qaiser, a former Speaker of the National Assembly, questioned the government’s tactics.
“Has any dignity of Parliament remained in the country?” he asked, directly addressing the Speaker.
He further condemned the treatment of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa’s chief minister, describing it as disgraceful.
“These tactics will not scare us,” Qaiser emphasised, asserting that protests and public gatherings are a constitutional right.
“You have attacked democracy, and you will have to answer for it,” the PTI leader added, accusing the government of using intimidation to force support for a legislative package.
