Three found dead in capital apartment

Police seize bodies, conduct autopsy on one and launch investigation

ISLAMABAD:

The Islamabad police have said they have recovered the bodies of three individuals, including two women, from a luxury apartment in a posh commercial centre of the federal capital.

The police have identified the deceased as Zabat Khan, a resident of the Kohat district in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK), and two women named Samina and Nadia.

According to police sources, Zabat Khan had returned to Pakistan a few days earlier for a vacation after working in Qatar. He was accompanied by two women to a luxury apartment in Al-Safa Heights, where they reportedly hosted a dance party.

During the gathering, the group allegedly consumed alcohol.

The police were alerted when the condition of the three individuals began to worsen. Nadia, one of the women at the party, managed to contact Al-Safa Heights management for help. In response, a team from the Shalimar police station arrived.

Nadia was rushed to the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) for medical treatment but she could not survive. The police recovered all three bodies from the apartment.

The initial investigation by the police suggested that the trio may have consumed both alcohol and narcotic substances, though the exact cause of death remains under investigation. A senior officer from the Shalimar Zone of the Federal Police told The Express that all three individuals were young and in apparent good health. However, evidence collected from the crime scene indicated that alcohol and possibly drugs were involved in their deaths. The officer further revealed that Ziabat and one of the women had already passed away in the apartment before help could arrive, while the second woman died after being transported to the hospital. Post-mortem examinations have been conducted on Ziabat, while the autopsies of the two women are still pending.

So far, the police have not registered a case because the family of one of the deceased women, identified as Nadia, has refused to take legal action. Efforts are still underway to contact the family of the second woman, Samina. The police officer emphasised that the investigation is crucial in determining whether the deaths were caused by excessive alcohol consumption or by the ingestion of poisonous alcohol or other substances.

The police are also considering the possibility that drugs such as "ice" (crystal meth) may have been consumed alongside alcohol. Investigators are focusing on tracking the source of any potentially toxic substances that could have contributed to the deaths.
