Selena Gomez made a striking appearance at the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) on Sunday, where she attended an interview at the Variety Studio.

Gomez, promoting her project Emilia Pérez, directed by Jacques Audiard, chose a retro-inspired little black dress that turned heads. The dress featured raised shoulders, three-quarter sleeves, and a fitted short skirt, offering a timeless yet stylish look.

Complementing the dress, she wore sheer black tights and black pumps, with her hair styled down but elevated at the crown for extra volume. Several rings added just a hint of sparkle to her ensemble, creating a perfect balance between chic and understated.

Gomez's involvement in Emilia Pérez comes after her recent Cannes Film Festival win for Best Actress, where she shared the award with her co-stars Zoe Saldana, Karla Sofia Gascón, and Adriana Paz.

Reflecting on her role, Gomez shared her thoughts with the Associated Press: "I’m not as happy with what I feel like I could’ve done in Spanish... But overall, I hope that it doesn’t hinder my performance and I’m really grateful for the opportunity."

During a Variety interview at TIFF, Gomez and her castmates joked about collaborating on her next album, given the musical nature of the film. Gomez laughed off the idea, saying, “Maybe, I don’t even have one yet.”

Though focusing more on acting lately, Gomez’s success with her Rare Beauty line has solidified her place among top-tier celebrities. After receiving an Emmy nomination for Only Murders in the Building, she emphasized: “Acting has, and will always be, my heart.”
