Meghan Markle joins Oprah Winfrey to support local authors at bookstore opening in Santa Barbara

Meghan Markle, the Duchess of Sussex, recently demonstrated her commitment to literature and community by attending the grand opening of Godmothers bookstore in Summerland, California.

 The event took place on Saturday, September 7th, near the Montecito home she shares with Prince Harry.   

The Duchess opted for a chic, business-inspired ensemble, sporting a navy blue tuxedo jumpsuit from Club Monaco, complemented by a simple ponytail and diamond earrings.   

During the event, Meghan took the stage to address the attendees and express her support for local authors. Other notable guests included Oprah Winfrey, author Shaka Senghor, astrologer Jennifer Freed, and the bookstore's co-founders. Notably, Prince Harry's memoir "Spare" was featured in a display showcasing books by "hometown authors," alongside titles like Gwyneth Paltrow's "It's All Easy" and Meghan's own children's book "The Bench."   

This appearance aligns with Meghan's ongoing efforts to promote literature and connect with her community. She is also gearing up for the launch of her lifestyle brand, American Riviera Orchard, later this year. This venture is expected to encompass a diverse range of products, reflecting her passions for family, cooking, entertaining, and home decor.
