IT students pledge to bring home millions of dollars
Thousands of young participants of the Saylani IT program have pledged to bring their earnings from abroad to Pakistan in the form of remittances to help pay off the country's significant debts.
This pledge was made at the first reunion of the graduates of Saylani Welfare International Trust's IT training program, held at Karachi's Mohatta Palace. The event's chief guest was prominent businessman, Muhammad Ali Tabba.
Addressing the audience, Tabba stated that the country's economic crisis could be solved by preparing IT professionals.
State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) Deputy Governor Saleemullah said the Central Bank has always supported Pakistan's IT industry to boost software exports. He expressed full support for the campaign to increase Pakistan's software exports from the current $3.2 billion to make it the top foreign exchange-earning sector in the next five years.
Faysal Bank CEO and President, Yousuf Husain, highlighted the continuous need for IT professionals in Pakistani banks to provide modern digital banking and financial services with high-tech security. Prominent businessman Arif Habib reiterated the corporate sector's full support for Saylani's efforts.
Turkish Consul General Cemal Sangu said Turkey's doors are open for Pakistani youth, adding that Saylani's IT program plays a crucial role in this.
