FIA busts human trafficking network

LAHORE:

An international network involved in human trafficking has been busted by the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) on a tip-off from intelligence agencies.

The FIA Lahore Circle arrested operatives of the network. The network was involved in fleecing people through false promises of employment abroad and had deprived them of millions of rupees.

The group was expert in making fake documents, including passports, visas and other papers required for international travel.

The human smuggling group had its own printing press where fake documents related to various countries were prepared.

People seeking political asylum in different countries were also getting assistance from the group. The scope of the investigation has been expanded and more arrests are expected.
