ISLAMABAD:

Two suspected robbers in the custody of Shehzad Town police were killed in a shootout with their accomplices. None of the four suspects involved in the alleged attack on the police and their associates have been apprehended by the Shehzad Town police despite a complete lockdown of the area.

According to police sources, the Shehzad Town police informed senior officers that Naeem Bahadur and Mir Rizwan, two dangerous robbers previously arrested and in police custody on physical remand, were being taken to a forested area near the Park Enclave cemetery to aid in the arrest of their remaining two accomplices. During the investigation, the suspects revealed that they were part of a four-member robbery gang, including Faizan and Kashif.

The gang planned their heists in the forested area near the cemetery. While the police team arrived at the scene with official vehicles and armed personnel to apprehend the suspects, Naeem Bahadur and Mir Rizwan were removed from the police vehicle and called out to their accomplices, Kashif and Faizan, asking for help to escape from the police.

At this point, Kashif and Faizan, along with two unidentified accomplices, opened fire from the forest area, killing Naeem Bahadur and Mir Rizwan. Fortunately, the police personnel were protected by bulletproof vests and helmets, though the police vehicle's windows and body were hit, and one of the vehicle's tyres was punctured.

Following the attack, the suspects fled the scene on motorcycles.
