PTI caravans face police action en route to Capital: Haleem
A PTI caravan left Karachi for Islamabad to participate in the party's rally scheduled for September 8. PTI Sindh President Haleem Adil Sheikh is leading the caravan, which includes hundreds of vehicles.
Participants were warmly welcomed on their first stopover in Hyderabad en route to the federal capital.
However, the caravan faced disruptions in Matiari, where a heavy police contingent blocked the road to check the vehicles allegedly for security purpose.
The participants protested the police hurdles before they were allowed to continue their journey. As they drove farther, police again tried to block their march at Saeedabad.
Meanwhile, a caravan from the PTI Mirpurkhas Division, traveling by train to Islamabad, was forcibly removed from the train by a large police contingent at Nawabshah.
PTI Mirpurkhas President Aftab Hussain Qureshi and other PTI leaders, including Kanwal Ijaz Randhawa, were also arrested.
The PTI Sindh caravan, joined by smaller convoys from various cities of Sindh, is expected to reach Islamabad via the Motorway from Sukkur late on Saturday night.
