Children's heart surgery initiative reviewed

Provincial Health Minister Khawaja Salman Rafique has said that the children's heart surgery programme is aimed at ensuring priority cardiac surgeries for children in government hospitals.

Chairing a meeting, he highlighted that the capacity of children's hospitals across the province is currently under evaluation to meet the programme's growing needs.

An online dashboard is also being developed to monitor the project's progress in real time.

"This initiative will bring immediate improvements to the paediatric heart surgery system, and the government is committed to increasing the capacity of these hospitals," Rafique remarked. He emphasised that an integrated heart surgery system for children is in the works.
