A crackdown has been initiated against the illegal netting of falcons and quails in Peshawar district and its outskirts.

Official sources told The Express Tribune that in light of the clear cut instructions issued by the Secretary Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Department of Climate Change, Forests, Environment, and Wildlife, a comprehensive joint operation was conducted by the Peshawar Wildlife Division and Khyber Wildlife in the targeted areas of Garhi Chandan, Surn Maira, and Hassan Khel.

The primary objective of this raid was to eliminate and eradicate illegal activities related to netting of falcons and quails, which pose a threat to the regional wildlife.

During the operation, teams from the Wildlife Department successfully identified and removed the trappers' huts and camps.
