Maid rescued after severe abuse by employer in Lahore's private housing society
A domestic worker named Muqaddas was subjected to severe physical abuse by her employer in a private housing society in Lahore, local police said. The police rescued the victim and transferred her to the hospital for medical care.
According to Express News, this is another incident of violence against domestic workers in Lahore's private housing societies. Neighbours alerted the authorities after noticing the deteriorating condition of the young worker.
Police arrived at the residence and rescued Muqaddas, later moving her to a nearby hospital.
In her statement to the police, the victim said, "The employer, Farah, and her mother would beat me with sticks and force me to drink hot water."
The North Cantt police have registered a case based on the victim's statement and arrested the employer.
Efforts are being made to contact the girl's family for further investigation.
