Two passengers attempting to leave the country with fake passports were arrested at Karachi Airport.

The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) reported that immigration official Muhammad Adnan, who assisted the passengers, was also arrested.

The detained individuals, identified as Muhammad Bashir and Rizwan Khan, were on an international flight to Canada.

The Canadian passports they presented were found to be fraudulent after a thorough inspection by the Secondary Line Office.

The report from the office indicated that the passports lacked several security features.

Initial investigations revealed that the suspects acquired the fake passports for Rs. 10 million each from an agent named Usman from Wazirabad.

The suspects have been transferred to the Anti-Human Trafficking Circle in Karachi for further legal proceedings.

FIA Director General Ahmad Ishaq praised the team’s performance, highlighting the crucial role of modern equipment at the Secondary Line Border Control Offices in preventing human trafficking.

Last month, the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) immigration staff arrested three passengers, including an agent, who were trying to go abroad using fake travel documents at the New Islamabad International Airport (IIA).

Officials also recovered fake documents from the passengers’ luggage, which they had obtained from the accompanying agent for more than Rs14 million.

They intended to travel to other countries from Saudi Arabia using fake travel documents under the guise of performing Umrah.

In another case, the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Immigration arrested four passengers with fake visas during operations at Jinnah International Airport in Karachi on Sunday.

According to an FIA spokesperson, the immigration staff at Jinnah International Airport detained three passengers attempting to travel abroad on fake documents and one passenger arriving from abroad.
