Jenna Dewan calls 'Magic Mike' director Steven Soderbergh to testify in Channing Tatum divorce trial
Jenna Dewan is not holding back in her ongoing divorce battle with ex-husband Channing Tatum. The actress and dancer is set to call renowned director Steven Soderbergh to testify in their upcoming trial, as revealed in court documents obtained by In Touch.
The central dispute in their divorce revolves around the division of profits from the hugely successful "Magic Mike" franchise.
Dewan believes she is entitled to a 50 percent share of Tatum's earnings from the films, live shows, and other ventures spawned by the movie.
Dewan plans to question Soderbergh for two hours regarding the "business, creative and financial activities" of the Magic Mike enterprises. She alleges that Tatum, with the help of his business manager, created a "complex web of LLCs" to obscure the true value of the franchise and its profits.
Tatum has denied these accusations, stating that Dewan has always been fully aware of all business dealings and has access to all financial records. He believes her request to depose Soderbergh is merely a tactic to delay the trial.
The couple, who share an 11-year-old daughter, Everly, split in 2018. While they quickly reached a custody agreement, the division of their community assets, particularly the Magic Mike profits, remains a contentious issue.
With Soderbergh's involvement and the high stakes involved, the trial is shaping up to be a dramatic showdown between the former Hollywood power couple.
