Amy Adams, with her dark comedy "Nightbitch" about to premiere in Toronto, is already gearing up for her next project. The six-time Oscar nominee has signed on to produce and star in "Lazy Susans," a comedy film from 20th Century Studios.

The movie, penned by Oscar nominees Annie Mumolo ("Bridesmaids") and Stan Chervin ("Moneyball"), revolves around a group of moms who form a rock band. It draws inspiration from the true story of The Lazy Susans, a Boston-based band that came together during the Covid-19 pandemic.

Adams and Stacy O'Neil will produce through their Bond Group Entertainment banner, alongside Vivek J. Tiwary and Jack Leslie of TEG+, who optioned the Boston Magazine article that sparked the project.

This marks another collaboration between Adams and O'Neil, who also produced "Nightbitch," a surreal take on motherhood based on the 2021 novel by Rachel Yoder. Adams recently wrapped filming on Taika Waititi's sci-fi film "Klara and the Sun" and the drama "At the Sea."

Mumolo, known for co-writing and starring in the hit comedies "Bridesmaids" and "Barb & Star Go to Vista Del Mar," brings her comedic expertise to the project. Chervin, an Oscar nominee for his work on "Moneyball," adds his storytelling prowess to the mix.

With a talented cast and crew, "Lazy Susans" promises to be a heartwarming and hilarious look at motherhood, friendship, and the power of music.
