Chief of Army Staff General Syed Asim Munir highlighted that, on this day, Pakistan’s army, navy, and air force, alongside the nation, thwarted the ambitions of a much larger enemy.

The unity and determination demonstrated during the 1965 war remain a proud legacy for both the armed forces and the country.

General Asim praised the courage and professionalism displayed by the forces during the 1965 conflict, calling it an inspiration for future generations.

Paying tribute to the martyrs, General Asim referenced a verse from the Quran (Surah Al-Baqarah, 2:154), which states that those who die in the cause of Allah are alive, though people may not perceive it.

He honoured the sacrifices of the soldiers who defended the motherland and reaffirmed the military’s commitment to support the families of martyrs.

The army chief reiterated the armed forces' dedication to their motto of “faith, piety, and jihad in the path of Allah,” describing it as their greatest weapon against adversaries.

He pointed out that their efforts have kept Pakistan stable and secure from internal threats.

The army chief also highlighted the growing complexity of digital terrorism, exacerbated by foreign involvement, but expressed confidence that the nation’s resolve remains unshaken.

He reaffirmed Pakistan’s desire for peaceful relations with its neighbours, while staying prepared to defend its borders.
