LAHORE:

Punjab Assembly Speaker Malik Ahmad Khan has scheduled a discussion for Friday (today) to address the issue of the Gymkhana's lease being offered at cheap rates, seeking input from the concerned minister.

During the assembly session, concerns were raised by both treasury and opposition members over the submission of incorrect responses to lawmakers' queries, particularly regarding health department matters.

The opposition voiced strong objections, criticising the health department's conduct as a "mockery" of the assembly's business due to the inaccurate answers provided.

Speaker Khan also expressed his displeasure, questioning how the House could be expected to function effectively with such erroneous responses.

He demanded that the health department submit correct information by September 6 (today) in response to the questions raised.

Meanwhile, PTI lawmaker Imtiaz Sheikh, summoned via a production order issued by Speaker Khan, made an appearance, vocally supporting PTI leadership with slogans.

The assembly session was adjourned until today at 9am, with lawmakers expected to discuss the Gymkhana lease issue, law and order, inflation, and various health department concerns.
