RAWALPINDI:

The Rawalpindi City Traffic Police has issued a special traffic plan for Defence Day.

A total of 216 traffic officers and staff will be on duty. According to officials, due to the programme at the GHQ on September 6 (today), traffic will be diverted from Mall Road and nearby areas to alternate routes as needed.

For this purpose, eight DSPs, 32 Senior Traffic Wardens, 176 Traffic Wardens, and Traffic Assistants have been assigned duties. The traffic police have been instructed to divert traffic to alternate routes if Mall Road is closed, ensuring uninterrupted traffic flow.

Any suspicious activities should be reported immediately to district and military police. Legal action will be taken against vehicles and motorcycles without number plates.

Ambulances, fire brigades, and other official vehicles will be thoroughly checked to prevent any misuse of terrorist activities.
